Cristiano Ronaldo to receive Golden Boot award on November 6th
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo will receive his Golden Boot award on November 6th, 2014, joining former Liverpool and current Barcelona striker Luis Suarez as the joint top goal-scorer of the 2013-14 season.
Cristiano Ronaldo will receive the third Golden Boot of his career after scoring 31 goals in the 2013-14 La Liga season.
Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly opted not to accept the award in the same ceremony as Suarez, who was presented his award by former manager Kenny Daglish on the 15th of October.
This is only the second time in history that the Golden Boot has been award to two players, with Thierry Henry (Arsenal) and Diego Forlán (Villarreal) having both won it after their performances in the 2004-05 season.
Cristiano Ronaldo previously won the award with Manchester United in the 2007-08 season (31 goals), with Real Madrid in the 2010-11 season (40 goals) and is on pace to win the award next year, having already scored 16 goals in 9 games this season.
